Canford started their pre-season campaign in sweltering hot conditions against regular opponents from the Sunday Premier division, Magdon Scaffolding who fully deserved their win, it was the strongest team they've fielded against us whilst Canford had 8 experienced first team players away on holiday (just 4 players that ended last season featured in the game, Matt Mcgrath, Lezer, Webby and Daffy) , although this gave many of last year's under 18's and some new faces the chance to impress whilst also giving everyone the chance to build up their fitness before the season starts.

Canford's goal was scored by Lezer with a good finish lobbing the keeper, and their best chances fell to Webby who tried to chip the keeper when well placed whilst Connor Wright almost scored in the 2nd half but his shot was well cleared off the line. Canford have plenty to work on in training but certainly nothing to panic about at this early stage of pre season and the fitness will improve week after week and the shape of the team will develop when the rest of the squad return.

Contenders for man of the match on the day were Cameron Milne and Jordan Dunkley but Adam Wright just shaded it as this was his first game for the club.

Another big plus was Matt Mcgrath playing the whole 90 minutes in his first game since rupturing his knee ligaments midway through last season.

Durley Chine beach training is beckoning though to improve the lack of match fitness shown today.
