An historic third win on the bounce was overshadowed today by a heinous crime that the world's tabloid media are calling 'Sockgate!!!' A pair of business school socks were abducted in broad daylight today right from under the nose of kit man Simon Claggy Naylor. Suspicions lay at the door of the Tapas Three, Martin One Leg Larkin, Hubba Bubba Okpala and Callum 'Pork Chop' Gunther (so called because of his layer of 3 inch glutenous back fat).
The Economists began the game as they meant to carry on, on the front foot and playing the vast majority of the game in the tuppencetouchers half. 70s synthplayer Rick Wakeman and Gary bibs probed down the right to feed Swampy the Creature from the Black Lagoon and goalmouth scrambles were a plenty. Even Stan Olly Laurel got in on the act hitting a shot just over the bar. Eventually the breakthrough came as Swampy slotted the first and then Farrell made it 2 with a sweet shot into the bottom corner. Swampy should've made it 3 in a one on one with the keeper but tamely shot into his hands. HALF TIME BUSINESS 2 LESBOS 0!!
At half time Naylor Snr implored his teammates not to do anything silly. However, Chuddy 'Goldfish Brain' Okpala did exactly that and gifted the LGBTQ Rainbow family a goal after just 21 seconds of the restart. BUSINESS 2 LEZZAS 1. Subs Tom Murray and Ian Bibby came on at halftime to carry out some mercurial wingplay. Ashley and Farrell battled for everything in midfield and limited the the Green jerseys to their usual intercontinental long range missile game.
Somehow Gunther looking as mobile as Harvey Weinstein on his zimmer, found himself in the opponents box for a free header but couldn't keep it down. Finally Swampy Richman hit a scorcher into the roof of the net to make it 3. GAME OVER!! Naylor Snr came on for a cameo at left back and saw the game out. FINAL SCORE : BUSINESS 3.LEZZIELEZZAS 1!!!
