Hes Back, hes Buff and hes Bald!! The Nigel Farage of Amateur football made his return to his natural habitat today, the managers dugout of the Mighty Business School. But after a promising start Hedges and Naylor ended up relieving their prostates through the wire fence in frustration at the missed opportunities that saw the match slip away.

The first half started brightly for la Economistas as Ruud Boy Timms working down the left flank worked intricate venn diagrams with Liam McCartney and the young Joey Deacon. Time after time openings were worked on the edge of the box but chances failed to be converted. Paul 'Muzza' Murray showed flashes of brilliance like Edvard Munch before his descent into madness. Farrell reverted to his wrestling alterego Kendo Nagasaki taking down HSBCs number 11 to the canvas in a Tongan death grip sleeper hold. Finally, Bob Latchford Roberts guided a shot from the edge of the box into the right hand corner to take the lead. More chances came and went and the game should have been put to bed like Zippy and Bungle after being fingered by Geoffrey. Alas, The cashiers of Woolton village banked 2 goals against the run of play to end the half 2-1 to HSBC.

In the 2nd half Hedges brought on Andre the Giant to replace the bulimic Okpala and The Peach to replace Harrisons offensive day glo green boots. Olly Ols Oliver came on to firm up midfield but the pitch grew exponentially larger and larger like Topsy. Bibbybibstabibs worked tirelessly down the wing and delivered his trademark inch perfect cross but Liam couldn't keep his header down. Meanwhile the Business goalmouth was becoming like the Alamo with Nick 'Toepunt' Wallace saving us from double figures. Legs grew weary and the mid afternoon sun sapped the strength from once virile young warriors who lay slowly dying on the carconegenic field of play.

Not the Rebirth Hedges and Naylor had hoped for but the Longest Journey begins with a Single Step and this was certainly a step in the right direction.

FINAL SCORE: HSBC WOOLTON 2 BUSINESS SCHOOL 1
