The Business School Candidates embraced the words of FDR today and pursued the revolutionary spirit of bold persistent experimentation!! In a time of Chaos and Toilet roll shortages the Schools Show of Strength laughed in the face of the Global Pandemic!
The exciting new 4 3 3 formation saw the Economists playing the majority of the game camped in the opposition half. Will Ellison played keeper, sweeper and number 1 playmaker launching satellites into space for young Kev Roberts to win in the air. His knockdowns were seized upon by Bibby and Naylor as pressure was put on Convocations back four. In defence Peach was cockahoop playing the Skoda Fabia to Birketts Bentley Bentayga. And Ruud Boy Timms positively purred like a Porsche 911. In Midfield Ashley's movement and grace outshone the combined talents of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and The Voices Will IAM. Meanwhile Din huffed and puffed like a Lada running on Bulgarian swamp gas. Gary Bibs missed his chance with a header just wide only for Convocation to score on the break. HALF TIME: BUSINESS 0 CONVOCATION 1.!!!
In the 2nd half Paul Murray came into his own playing both feet to slip and slide his way through the Convocation midfield. Naylor Jnr muscled his way to the byline time after time and Bibby fired countless corners into the danger zone. A cross come shot from The Bibs cut across Roberts path but he couldn't connect. The dying embers of the game saw 2 corners come to nought and Joe Birkett fire a free kick just wide. The game plan had worked like a Swiss Tissot timepiece except for the goals which were never to come!
