The Shankley Ground saw the welcome return of the Economists much loved enfant terrible today after the shameful scandal of Flaggate!!! But even the Manbabys silky left foot couldn't save the Business from defeat by the Collegiate bully boy bruisers!!
Before kick off Stavros jnr had a tantrum after finding out he was starting on the bench and was sent to sit on the naughty step by Supernanny Hedges. The Business started the game with a bold and beautiful formation of 3 up front!! Tora Tora Tora!! Roberts Ashley and Naylor jnr terrorised the Collegiate defence as Wallace toepunted the leather bladder to within an inch of its life. The pressure paid off as Adam Van Nistelrooy was felled in the box. Roberts stepped up but his lacklustre effort was palmed aside by the Collegiate keeper. Fortunately Ashley kept the ball in play and his shot rebounded into Roberts path to make it 1 nil to the Business School!! The Managers gamelan was working like a fine swiss timepiece with perpetual movement. The back 3 of Okpala Harrison and the Colussus of Rhodes Dave Murphy repelled everything thrown at them like a sidewinder air to air missile. But 10 seconds before half time a corner from Collegiate found the head of the Great White Albino Sasquatch to make it HALF TIME: COLLEGIATE 1 BUSINESS 1.
In the 2nd half Farrell came on for Okpala And Gunther for Harrison as the manager reverted to 442. Murray and Bibby probed down the right and created a 1 on 1 chance for Ashley but he failed to convert. More chances went begging as Collegiate used gravity to their advantage and went 2 - 1 up!! FARRELL pulled up Naylor filled in and then the Sasquatch rose to get his 2nd and Collegiates 3rd. The introduction of Hedges with 10 minutes to go was like expecting Mesut Ozil to fight off armed robbers!! Almond - Doherty battled and bullied the Collegiate midfield but couldn't inspire a fightback. Naylor jnr was butted by one of the evil bearded twins and Collegiates Luka Modric went psycho before his teammates threatened to wipe out each other in a Jonestown Massacre!!
