After quite a high defeat against Manchester laces at our last meeting Maroons were keen to show their progress on the pitch. From the first whistle Maroons passed the ball effectively to get it up the pitch. Getting in to space and shouting for the ball Maroons made a positive start and began to dominate the match, taking their chances whenever they got possession. At half time the score line was nil nil and Maroons defence had held strong clearing the ball and pushing Laces back. In the second half, again Maroons were strong pushing forwards and putting in some strong challenges. 40 minutes in Elise had a fantastic run and struck the ball to break the deadlock and put Maroons 1 nil up. Spirits were high, however Maroons continued to work hard and did not become complacent, still challenging anything coming their way. In the final minute of the match the ball was struck by Laces and went into a spin, unfortunately though Lindsay got her gloves to it it spun off and reached the back of the net and the score line was 1-1 at the final whistle.
