Derby day for the Maroons on a bitterly cold Friday night at Goshen; up against the Blues.
The maroons lined up in a 3-3-2 formation; and the focus was on keeping shape and calmness on the ball.
The first half started, with the Maroons playing against the gale force wind, which forced them back.
However, the defence withstood firm, forcing the Blues to play the ball out wide and attempt crosses into the box.
The Blues were limited to shots from outside the box and a few of these found the target.
Maroons were playing on the counter attack, using the pace of the strikers to cause the Blues a few problems at the back.
Midway thorough the first half, this paid off as the Maroons were awarded a penalty, following some intricate play on the edge of the area - Penalty expertly put away by Elise.
The second half began with the Maroons playing with the strong wind at their backs - helping them push the Blues back towards their own goal, and now forcing the Blues to play on the counter.
Despite some excellent running from midfield, Maroons were unable to further add to their tally.
An outstanding performance all round as each and every player stuck to their task and kept their shape well.
