Bumboys AFC Thrash Fartleyverse FC In Friendly Showdown

Bumboys AFC welcomed Fartleyverse FC to Boldon on 1 May 2025 for a friendly match that saw the home side dominate with a resounding 5-0 victory. The match kicked off at 4:45pm and, despite the low attendance of just one spectator, the action on the pitch was anything but dull.

Bumboys AFC lined up in a 3-2-3 formation, with Ben Tozer-Smith guarding the goal. The half-time whistle blew shortly after, with Bumboys AFC firmly in control at 2-0. The players returned for the second half with the same intensity, and it didn't take long for them to extend their lead further. Just two minutes into the half, in the 44th minute, Daniel Nicholas found the net after a well-placed cross from Blakey. Nicholas tapped in from close range, making it 3-0.

Bumboys AFC's scoring spree continued shortly after. In the 47th minute, an unfortunate own goal from a Fartleyverse player, following a corner taken by Blakey, added to the tally, bringing the score to 4-0. The header from the opponent was a result of the pressure Bumboys had been applying throughout the match.

Devon Blakey was not done yet, as he capped off a remarkable performance with a stunning goal in the 54th minute. With a powerful strike using his right foot, he unleashed a screamer from outside the box, leaving the Fartleyverse goalkeeper with no chance and sealing the 5-0 victory for Bumboys AFC.

The match concluded with Bumboys AFC celebrating a comprehensive win, showcasing their attacking prowess and solid teamwork. Blakey's standout performance, contributing to four of the five goals, will surely be remembered as a highlight of the day.
