<p class="MsoPlainText">Saturday was a massive game for both sides who are both wanting to prove themselves in the league and show that should be fighting for promotion. The Buckden team started the game strong after a very efficient warm up, as they got straight on the front foot, pressing Socon into kicking the ball long. Socon only scared the team once with a long volley which rattled the cross bar but after that Buckden really put the peddle down, and as a team hunted down the Eaton players and played great football throughout the pitch the goal came after the team pressed the Eaton defender into a heavy touch, when Shane Mcdonald took full advantage of and the ball fell straight into the feet of Ryan Brown, who with a great weighted pass fed the ball into Dom Smith who carries on his goal scoring form with another fine finish. The second half was a little different as the wind did not favour the Buckden team however the perfect team performance started from the back with the big goal keeper on his final game for the club was collecting every cross and long ball that entered his area, the confidence, and class moved onto the back four with a solid held line and last ditch tackles from Kieran Dale Chris Dennis , Ryan Brown, and Adam Kidman. Not only did Eaton team not stand a chance breaking them down this meant the full backs could push on and both created lots of problems for Eaton. Timmy, Shane and Scutty worked hard closing the game down as a team and playing football whenever Buckden collected the ball. The confidence carries on into the front three with great football from Josh Smith throughout the game and leadership within his actions. The main pressure came from the top two Jonny Love and Dom Smith who ran all game pressing from the front, holding the ball up and annoying the back four of Eaton. When the subs came into the game all kept up the high standards with Luke Fennell calming the game down and making 3 clearing headers at the death, Jack Bramley causing trouble with his constant running and pace throughout the second half and Owen hitting every tackle and providing more protection down the right in front of Ryan. Game finished 1-0 and a great win for Buckden to show their title ambitions.
