Bristol Barcelona 2 - 1 Sea Mills

We’ve had some epic games against sea mills over the years, some close wins, close defeats, and most memorably Ports getting his chinos muddy after a scuffle on the line with a guy called Tyrone (ask him he loves to chat about it)

Today was another classic, less so because of the great football on show, the heavy wind and very equal sides led to it being pretty scrappy at times. But more so because of a collection of magic moments that led us to victory against a team who started the game unbeaten at the top of the league.

First shout out is to Dragon. Pumped full of some weird energy gel that would likely lead to him failing a drugs test, Dragon made 3 top class saves to keep us in the game at 0-1 down. One save from a free kick he flew into the air and somehow managed to finger tip the ball from the top corner . An niesamowite save.

The skipper. Nursing a knee injury that looked more swollen than my bank account, Hodge pulled out a classic DAVE HODGE performance. He won countless headers, big tackles and added a critical goal when he smashed the ball in from close range to make it 1-1. Must note as we’ve come to expect, Hodge was assisted with some exceptional skill and a pin point cross from the magical Lewis Thompson.

Dan Lamb - brought his whole family since the year 1734 along to watch, and they were treated to a wonderful show, Lamb ran, dribbled, tackled, fouled and then scored what turned out to be the winner from 25 yards (with his knee). He deserves it for the impact he made from the bench. This, along with his ability to name his current team mates got him man of the match.

Honourable mention to Tom Portingale who just shy of his 38th birthday came in at left back and didn’t put a foot wrong. Brilliant leadership, defensive shape and distribution all game.

I hope the whole team are buzzing tonight, you have earned it.
