A massive effort by Bowland Cs against a Medsoc side who are largely made up of As players ultimately fell short late in the game as they ended up losing 2-1 to the runaway league leaders
The game got off too a perfect start as Lawrence Hopper and Ross Stodgell combined well to get in behind and win a penalty within 2 minutes of the game starting, a penalty that was once again expertly slotted away by Kayden
What followed was a lot of excellent defensive work from Bowland, with many a vital block, clearance and interception made by the back 4 of Tom Cantrell, Captain Jacob Austin, Jai Kempster (following his return from illness) and Kayden Parish, which despite some genuinely pathetic dives from the Medsoc players that conned the referee many a time, Bowland went in 1-0 up at halftime
The second followed more of the same, with a lot of Bowland defending, whilst looking dangerous on the counter as both Loz and Raymond (who had returned from injury just days before the game) went close
However the Medsoc pressure told with 2 goals in 4 minutes, first through last seasons Division 3 top scorer James Okeleke who got in behind to lob over the on rushing Reuben, before former West Ham and Kings Lynn academy centre half Dan Harvey powered home a header from close range to win the game for Medsoc
However despite winning the game the actions from some of the Medsoc players was utterly disgraceful, from a blatant stamp that the referee missed, as well many elbows in the back whilst up in the air,
However despite the loss there was a lot to be proud of for Bowland who are still in the promotion hunt with Fylde set to play Medsoc in 2 weeks time
