Keeping momentum and winning results up was key this week. We were hot on Stockport's heels and new a big win would bring us even closer to topping that table. With only Bobby missing, Bulldogs were looking strong and ready to put on a show.
The game started with a flurry of shots. Shawside were also threatening from the off, but Will and Tommy kept out early threats until a shot from Freddie reached the back post and a persistent Liam slid in to convert. First blood to Boothstown. Liam then turned provider on 7 minutes with a cross for Will to tap in. 2 up within 10 minutes and we looked great. Will had a free kick excellently saved by the opposition keeper, but the goalie could do nothing to save Tyler's bullet, a few seconds after he came on for Tom, after a neat lay off by Liam.
Tommy should have done better with an opposition shot which kept in, but the boys still looks strong. Another shot from Will went begging and the boys went in 3-1 up after first period.
Triple sub as Will, Liam and Freddie gave way to Tom, Aidan and Ford. It didn't take long for the subs to make an impact. Ford volleying in from a great Tyler throw in. Ford then added a second to his tally with am amazing free kick taking the score to 5-1 and cruise control kicked in.
A lapse in concentration allowed Shawside to add a second, but normal service resumed Seconds later as Tom crossed for Ford to slot home a neat back post shot and his third. He then smashed another well struck free kick against the bar just before the second break.
Another triple change saw the 3T's take a break (Tommy, Tom and Tyler) as Will, Freddie and Liam returned to the game. A great 15 minutes of football followed. Ford smashed a cross field shot which rifled bottom corner. Liam then showed great tenacity to intercept a pass, showed some neat footwork to dance through the defence and finish in style. Another impeccable touch from Ford from a wayward Shawside pass, two little touches then ?? back of the net. 9 goals in and they didn't even look like slowing down.
Another searching cross from Ford hit an unsuspecting Shawside player and ended up in the net for number 10. Liam grabbed another from a Will throw in and number 12 came two minutes from time with another class finish from Will.
Bulldogs absolutely smashing the opposition, but cannot get complacent with a Stockport side still in form. Bring on the next game!!!
