Another grim weather day for the boys, which may have contributed to their performance. A few absences in Tyler and Ford, but missing players and conditions aside the boys didn't look their sharpest from the off. We won't critique too much as the season so far and the lads have been great, but need to bounce back next week with a win to put this game behind us.

Prestwich were quick off the mark and had a few shots early on just missing the mark. Aidan made a good save first five, but Tommy, suffering from a burst eardrum, just didn't look himself missing a number of important challenges, two of which led to the first and second goal.

The third goal came just before the end of the first period. A great reaction save from Aidan bounced out to their player who hut it home. More awarwness needed from the boys on how to protect Aidan as he learns his craft and how to use his hands instead of clearing into play. But as mentioned, we cannot criticise too much as specific training is needed to get better and improve.

Liam had a quiet game up until minute 20 where he brushed home a great shot to beat the keeper. It looked like we may be on the fight back trail, but shot after shot was either saved or just wide. A quick break saw the opposition attack again and secure a fourth before the end of the second period. After 30 min, 4-1 down looked grim for the boys.

Last 15 however the boys picked up. A number of string attacks just couldn't find the finishing touch, until Bobby struck his first goal of the campaign with a wicked lob. Will and Freddie attacked and continued to pressure but just couldn't get another. Tom looked liveky final 15 too and made every effort to wind through the defence but again, not managing to find a way into the goal.

A disappointment for the boys and parents, but nobody is unbeatable. Just goes to show the lads still have room to get better and stronger, which I'm sure they will. Onwards and upwards to the next game.
