Home league match

Prescott came into this match an unknown entity as we hadn't seen or heard anything of them previously. The boys were well up for any challenge that faced them, but were dealt an early wake up call when the opposition took an early lead through a well struck free kick.

The bulldogs had a few early attempts dealt with amazingly by arguably Prescott's best player, their keeper. He was on fire the first 15 minutes, saving shots from Freddie and Tom. His great form spurred on the rest of Prescott's team and they broke to score a second goal on 7 minutes.

An individual bit of brilliance from Freddie saw him take a great touch, before curling home a fantastic right foot strike 4 minutes before end of the first period. More shots followed, but their keeper was again more than up to the task saving strike after strike.

End of the first 15 saw three changes. Bobby, Will and Liam all came on, with Tommy, Tom and Tyler making way. It wasn't long before the physical presence of Will and Bobby started to prove the difference. Wills persistence in midfield and Bobby's dominance at the back really shook Prescott. It was Will who used this shift in dominance to level the scores with an absolute screamer on 19 minutes adding another thumping strike two minutes later to take the Bulldogs into the lead.

Prescott's keeper was defiant and kept them in it, a succession of great saves and a momentary lapse from the boys and the opposition drew level on 22 minutes. Squeeky bum time kicked in!

Freddie took a knock and needed to be replaced by Tom for a time. It was Tom who made a great tackle and the ball bounced to Will who struck it on the half volley to leave an otherwise outstanding Prescott keeper stranded.

The third period started a little frantic and it was bulldogs shot stopper Aidan who was called into action with a fantastic save of his own to deny another leveller. This proved a pivotal point in the match, as time was now ticking away. It gave an in form Will one more chance to take centre stage with a neat dribbling run into the box before slotting home his fourth of the game.

Final set of subs saw fresh legs introduced and with Prescott only having 5 players, this burst of energy was the final nail for the team from scouseville. Free kicks from Bobby, Liam and Will all excellently saved by Prescott's keeper kept the score down, otherwise it would have been a white wash.

A scare in terms of goals conceded, however the scoreline didn't really reflect the Bulldogs dominance. Second in the league only on goal difference, the boys can take this win into the next game and improve to hopefully top that table.
