Before the game we had a word with the lads today. We spoke about bullies, don’t let them get in your heads, don’t react and play football. The boys did so well not to react even to the last minute where it was just abusive behaviour on all accounts.
We play good fair football as a team and on the whole today the game could’ve been anyone’s - we are a better team in lots of ways and we would rather lose every game than to win like that
The opposition management style was aggression, not to be confused with strength, they showed aggressive behaviour towards players / the ref / myself and Pete.
My old man would have called them Plonkers. That’s about right.
We will be letting the league know about the bad practice. We all do safeguarding courses to help combat this type of nonsense and our club holds good account to a positive football experience for all.
We love a competitive game of football.
But.
We won’t let bully’s get away with abusive behaviour.
