Away cup match

Boldmere bowed out of the Challenge Cup with a woeful display against a decent Minworth side.
The gaffer had to make a late change to the starting lineup, when Michael Dossett failed to show. Darren Hamilton came into the back 3, with Craig Oates returning to the side at left wing back and skipper Paul Brady returning to midfiled. Olly Nicholson, Tom Shakespeare, Rich McCausland and James Duff made up the substitutes bench.
Ironically Boldmere started well and looked ok, creating a couple of early chances that they failed to take. Minworth then scored a break away goal to take the lead. 2 minutes later the referee pointed to the spot awarding a dubious penalty with the Minworth player going to ground easily under Chris O'Briens challenge. Minworth dispatched the penalty to lead 2-0. Boldmere huffed and puffed but struggled to find any type of rhythm at all and on 22 minutes they were 3-0 down when a Minworth player finished well from a good move.
The second half saw a slight improvement from Boldmere, but it was to no avail with hardly any end product. Boldmeres man of the match Jamie Walker worked hard and was one of only a few players to come out with any credit. Minworth added 2 more late goals in the second half to complete the route and run out deserved winners albeit a harsh 5-0 scoreline.

It was never going to be Boldmeres day with everything that could go wrong doing so. With their season still looking strong Boldmere play a very important and tough league game on Tuesday evening at Church Road, against a Crown Elite side and they will be hoping to bounce back from today's disappointment and inept display to get back to winning ways. #WeGoAgain
