Tyson / Stu / Sam / Zamora / Charles / Hoff / Sheedy / Zondervan / Beardsley / Ilyas / Latch.
Can we play you every week? Seven goals without reply this week, suggests we played fantastically well. We didn't really (ask Ilyas), but we were still far too good for a pretty poor GLA side. At changeover time on pitch 2 the GLA boys had only mustered five players as some of the others had been on some kind of strategy away day which ended in the pub (as these things often do). KO was delayed by about 10 minutes whilst the stragglers made their way. Bizarrely, when we did get going GLA had a counting problem and incorrectly began with 10 whilst one of their lads took in the view from the bench. This was perhaps something to do with the pre match visit to the pub.
BOC took full advantage with junior Hoff scoring twice in quick succession. What goals they were as well! The first was put on a plate by marauding RB Stu, who took a pinpoint throw, perfectly finding HJ inside the area with his back to goal. All Hoff had to do then was control fist time, swivel, and smash the ball past the keeper with a left foot volley. All about the assist. The finish was outstanding to be fair, but what a throw in. Second was a tap in (goals are goals you pricks #GAGYP) after good play from Ilyas wide on the left. Ringer Jordan got the next two, the second of which was probably the pick of the game. Jordan received it in midfield beat a man and found Latch in the left channel. The big man had a chance to shoot but instead got his head up and played a cunning reverse into the path of the on-rushing to fire home first time with a Zondervan-esque booming side foot. 4 - 0 at HT.
Much of the same second half, with Tyson having very little to do. Zamora switched into MF with Sheedy dropping back to CB. More goals came from Zondervan, Latch, and Zondervan again all of which fell into the GAGYP category. Assists from Latch, Sam and Ben H. We hit the post and cross bar twice with Beardsley particularly unlucky not to score. Quite a fee MOTM contenders, but giving it to Hoff Jnr as he's a sensitive soul and deserves a bit of recognition.
Dry January out the window as we trotted off to the pub in celebration.
