Bitterly cold night at Battersea. Alex dropped out, then Andy was going to be late but never showed up, so it was 10v11 against our bogey side, which felt challenging.

No one told Paul. Flew out of the traps, dribbled along the goal line from the left of the goal, cut back and finished. Then pulled back for Chris to finish, 2-0. It doesn’t half make a difference having two proper strikers up front. Well done chaps.

Oppo immediately replied, with a shot inside Tyson’s near post, then got another after their no. 6 waltzed through the defence, and finally a third, decent cross from the right and tucked away by their no. 4. So incredibly, 2-3 at the break, from 2-0 up.

Time for a famous BOC half time reorg - and this one actually worked! Chris to centre half, James to right back, the very useful ringer Andrew into centre mid to help Ilyas out.

Andrew won the ball and squared for Charlie to belt home, 3-3. Paul chopped down, multiple times actually, but this one in the box. Ilyas dispatched a fine penalty, 4-3. A hobbling Paul dusted himself down, raced onto a Josh through ball and finished for 5-3.

I was starting to cramp up a bit and asked Chris how long left. 4 minutes said Chris. You know what’s coming.

Big fella on the oppo skinned Tom, dragged it inside, wrong footed me,!and finished at Tys’s near post, 4-5. Their big French lump of a defender somehow got free in the box, couldn’t quite believe his luck, hit one goalwards and got a bit lucky.

So 5-5 in the end. It was kind of a fun game to play in, we played some decent stuff, and matches with Broomwood have got a bit less aggy recently, which is good. And perhaps we should take the draw with 10 men. But 5-3 up with 4 mins to go…

MotM is Paul. Kicked all over the place but still emerges with 2 goals and 2 assists.

Ringer A - Andrew
