It was honours even in the end last night, BOC fielded a very strong line-up but were unable to get the long-awaited victory vs Alan Shearer's. No Tyson this week, so goal keeping duties were shared by Sheedy, Yilmaz ("what's that? In goal you say? Can't hear you, sorry. What now? In goal?") and Intertoto. Well done to those three. Starting line up then:

Sheedy

Morrissey / Fortune-West / Zondervan / Punt

Junior / Huckerby / Intertoto / Beardsley

Zola / Yilmaz

That wasn't quite the starting line-up as we only had ten at the off. Unusually, Latchford and Morrissey were both late (imagine that?!), arriving at almost the same time. There was a comedy moment where the big 'un tried to sprint past the jackson flash to nab the last spot in the starting eleven, but Jacko was having none of that and put on the afterburners leaving Latch on the sidelines in a cloud of Flash dust. The first 20 was pretty even with both teams sharing the possesion. BOC probably had the better of it with shots from Huckerby, Junior, Yilmaz and Zola failing to cause the good Lord Jesus any problems in the ASJS goal. Slightly against the run of play, ASJS scored following a bit of a mix-up in the BOC back line, Pedro firing easily past me from 12 yards or so.

Manager Stu would have been pleased with the BOC response to going behind as we really dominated the last ten minutes of the half. The equaliser was a nice breakaway move with Sheedy controlling a headed clearance away from our box, finding Jordan's feet around half way. He laid it off to Huckerby (I think?) who then slid a diagonal through ball that found Junior with acres of space. He finished well, left footed as the keeper came out. I think everybody bar Ben thought he was going to miss. We had chances to go ahead before the break, the best of which fell to Ben after great work from Zola who squared to Ben inside the box. His side foot finish was unfortunatley placed directly at the keeper.

The second half was also probably shaded by BOC with Jesus making a good save from a Sheedy header, Latch, Beardsley and Hoff Jnr all skewing shots from inside the box and Jesus able to rise triumphantly at the end having only been crucified once. Stu MOTM for a commanding performance at the back, although Junior had a great game too. Props to Punt for playing an hour at LB when he really wants one of those midfield spots.

Off to the pub to try and sort out venue and dates for D&D. It's likely to be early Jan, probably in the same pub we went to last year.
