There is something reassuring about seeing Tyson with a goalie shirt on, because let's face it the rest of us are diabolical in goal. More on that later.

BoC turned up in good strength for a very late start to the season. Strong in numbers, but also pretty impressive in hair length and size of guts. Well done lads - looks like everyone had been training hard for the restart!

The oppo were not in quite such good strength. 9 fit players and a non-playing manager meant Conrad and I played in defence for ASJS for the whole game.

Typical slow BoC start, 0-1 from a close range finish. 0-2 striker did well to slip it under Tyson when came off his line. 1-2 at the break after a bit of ping pong in the ASJS box, Chris tucking in after good work from Tony.

I did say to ASJS at half time that they should watch out for Tony running from deep in the 2nd half, but they seemed to ignore me, which did not turn out to be a good decision for them.

But firstly ASJS restored their 2 goal lead with a bullet header from a corner.

Chris pulled a cross back for Ben to tuck home 2-3, and you could sense the tide starting to turn. I for one was getting knackered, chasing round after Chris, Ilyas, Ben, Paul, Tony etc!

3-3 Tony rolled it in from outside the box after walking through the middle of the defence.

4-3 Tony won and scored a pen.

And there was just time for a nicely finished lob from Puntah which had me flapping at thin air. 5-3.

Always good to get an opening day win, even if that opening day is in April, and nice to win from behind.

What would have capped a great evening was a pitch side beer but although Simon brought a keg of beer :-) he failed to bring any glasses/cups :-( and since nobody felt doing a Gazza dentists chair we had to bin that one off for another week.
