Home league match

On a rare dry Sunday morning a determined Blackbrook side missing McCartney and Migoski were on the wrong side of a 3-1 scoreline.

The game was a close affair with neither side managing to make the breakthrough in the first half. Daverin came closest to opening the scoring for Blackbrook. Picking the ball up just inside the opponents half, Daverin took a couple of strides forward before unleashing a rocket that had the Pilks keeper beaten only to smash against the bar. At the other end, Nutley made a series of saves, one in particular diving high to his right to keep an effort out from the threatening Pilks No 8.

It was Pilks that opened the scoring on 39 minutes with a long range strike finding the top corner. 'Brook didn't allow their heads to drop, instead attacking the Pilks goal with renewed vigour and equalised almost instantly.

The always-dangerous Williams received the ball in midfield before turning and making a run down the right wing, using his legendary pace he left the Pilks defenders trailing in his wake before crossing and finding Owen who scored with a wonderful flicked header from 10 yards off the far post, 1-1.

Brook were on top for the next 10 minutes with the pace and movement of the front three casuning Pilks all sorts of problems, however it was Pilks who took the lead on 55 minutes before scoring again on 56 minutes.

'Brook tried desperately to get back into the game but couldn't make the breakthrough as the game finished 3-1.

Brooks style of football has been earning many plaudits this year and the fans continue to travel in numbers to watch them play, this week a record attendance of 46 turned up to Roper Street.

MOM went to the back three who did fantasticly well controlling the dangerous Pilks front line.

Next up for 'Brook is a cup game against Division 4 side Golborne.
