vs Newton-le-Willows U14

Home league match

Blackbrook returned to action after 3 weeks away following postponements and the Christmas break and picked up where they left off with a comfortable victory over a resilient Newton-le-Willows team.

With Goalkeeper Nutley unavailable it was forward Ryan Migoski who donned the gloves and took his place between the sticks. Osborne started in the centre forward position flanked by Williams and Owen.

Brook took the lead on 24 minutes with Senior on hand to follow up a flurry of efforts from Williams. Breaking down the left Williams cut into the area before a deft chip over the keeper was cleared off the line via the post from the Newton defender, the rebound fell to Williams again and this time it hit the base of the near post before falling to Senior who smashed home.

Brook extended the lead early in the second half when the persistant Williams hastled the Newton defender, forcing him further ans further back before winning the ball in the area and bending home into the far corner, leaving the keeper with no chance.

Williams got his second of the game just 3 minutes later when he latched onto a slotted through ball from Osborne and calmy poked in past the keeper on-rushing keeper.

Williams got his 15th of a productive season and completed his hatrick 3 minutes from time when he latched onto a brilliant ball over the top from Ridpath and held off the defender before finishing.

Special mention to Migoski in goal who kept a clean sheet and was lively when called upon, producing a couple of good saves and some excellent kicks.

Brook extend their run to a season best 4 starlight wins and keep the pressure on Pilks and VULCAN. Next up is a clash with promotion rivals Pilks!
