Match Report - BISHOP AUCKLAND ST. MARYS ACES U7 - 25 Feb 2024

We approached this game unknowing of the opponents skill quality as it is our first game in the new league and the first time we have played this team. Unlike last season, each team in this league has proved that they are good enough to be in contention so we can never expect any easy wins. The game ended with an unlucky 3-2 loss with the lads battling right till the very end. Theo’s goal was a well worked goal with a left footed shot across the goal finding its way past goalkeeper to put us 1-0 up. The lack of ability to adapt to subs and new positions led to them scoring 3 and punishing us. Caspers goal was a brilliant bit of team play between Casper and Oscar, playing a one two and releasing Casper to make a run down the line, taking it past his opposite number and sliding the ball into the net with his right foot. Overall, it was a well fought game and we were unlucky to not come out with at least a draw. We will take this loss as a learning curve and hopefully turn it around next match. UTS ????????
