3-5-2 Training Exercise

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Royal Arsenal provided less than opposition as Bexley reached the ten point mark with an easy win. With the home side only providing nine players a win was the minimum expectation as Bexley used this as an extra training session.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Sevenoaks volunteered himself to slot in the centre of defence with was effectively a second midfield line, and there was a long awaited return for Hamburger carrying the common cold. Mcgovern slotted into midfield with a strong strike force of Klavs and Clarkey with the unexplained and unmissed absence of Elton.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Overplaying was the theme of the game. With acres of space, Bexley were free to practice the 3-5-2 shape. Constantly reaching the final third, chances were being squandered by poor choices and desperation to score too quickly. Royal&rsquo;s keeper was tested, but not stretched. It took twenty five minutes to break the nine men down.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Clarkey made the break through with a well worked team move starting from the back three; completed with a clinical finish from close range. Chris offered additional width after his introduction and his ball led to a cheeky backy hill from Clarkey to make it 2-0. Klavs was providing the work rate up top helping Bexley dominate the possession and a third goal wasn&rsquo;t far off.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Dan Mcgovern won a free kick twenty five yards out and Catinho scored his fourth of the season hitting the postage stamp on the keepers&rsquo; side. A comfortable Bexley went in 3-0 up. With the result certain, Mourinho took this opportunity to rotate and look at players in alternative positions. Rob was happy to get out of defence, Josh wasn&rsquo;t happy to go in defence.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Bexley continued to probe with Klavs and Josh fashioning some dangerous opportunities. However, again plagued with over playing, Bexley did not score the goals their build up play deserved. They did get a fourth as Josh wasn&rsquo;t going to squander a second opportunity finishing from Adam&rsquo;s pass from close range. The ginger midfielder was as surprised as anyone he did not miss.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Perhaps sensing a rout, Bexley begun making poor choices in front of goal, allowing Royal Arsenal to get away with a 4-0 win. Definite steps forward, but Bexley learnt what we already knew. It&rsquo;s time to make better choices in the final third, and not force to opportunity.
