vs Tea and Busquets

Home league match

Both Berocca Juniors FC and Tea and Busquets went into this match with three points and a goal difference of +13, but that's only because Soccer Gods referees can't count. We knew this was going to be a tough one, so we had to be at our best. And we were.

Unlike last week, we were without Ryan Craig, so we knew if we got a penalty, we'd probably score it. Moreover, James Edwards' disappearance into the underground bingo scene at first took us by surprise, but we've had postcards stained with ketchup that seem to indicate he's having a great time.

With morale at an all-time high, the collective mental strength of the Juniors gave them a significant advantage over their opponents. This was bolstered by the sight of a mysteriously flat-capped figure, who vaguely resembled an aged Jack Cryer. Gaffer or not, this man is already in contention for Fan of the Year.

The boys didn't start great, but Tea and Busquets started even worse. Having been paid off by William Nicoll, who traded his car in for a skip last week, their defender decided to slot one past their keeper to put the Juniors one-up.

Though the next few goals were shared between the team, the lads ramped up the pressure, and went into the break 7-4 up. James Sproston bagged two and racked up his fiftieth assist, whilst Harry Van Der Hoek worked the channels well, and was rewarded with a smart goal.

The goal of the half was an absolute peach from Harri Saunders, picking out the bottom corner rather than the unmarked Tom Coulthard on the left hand side.

In a sterling defensive performance, the Juniors fended off the advances of the opposition, much like Niall A Nagar in Digi a couple of nights before. Despite tiring, the boys in yellow nicked a couple more, and only conceded the one.

Next week we play bottom-of-the-table Delph and Safety, but word on the pitch is that it's all an elaborate rouse to lure us into a false sense of security. We shall see.

There was no clean sheet for Jake Hawkyard this week, but for now you can enjoy this picture of Niall, who was neutralised by a scolding shot by a tea and/or busquet. We should also have highlights this week so look forward to seeing that from four different angles.
