vs Scouse Bounce

Home league match

Wednesday the 9th of November was a day not many will forget. It's a day when bigotry defeated tolerance, when madness overcame sense, and when fear was greater than hope. This was the day six angry Scousers beat six honourable Juniors.

Scouse Bounce had some dirty tactics up their sleeve. Firstly, they laid siege to the bunker that Ryan Craig has been in for the last week, forcing him to stay in Durham until his parents pay the ransom. They then attempted to run down Tom Coulthard after his dominant display last time out, and managed to yet again twist his ankle. Finally they laid Indiana Jones-esque booby traps around Jake Hawkyard's goal to damage his shins even further.

However this didn't faze the lads in the first half. Not least Will Nicoll, who bagged four top drawer goals, as the Juniors went into the break with a 5-3 lead. Youth team graduate Sam Griffiths claimed that "the two goal lead is the most dangerous lead." How right he was.

As prophesied, the Scousers bounced back, executing the 'put yer foot in' strategy to perfection. Despite Griffiths' lovely finish from Harri Saunders' exquisite back heel, the boys struggled to string passes together and fashion any clear-cut chances.

With five minutes to go, BJFC were 8-6 down; and, despite Nicoll's late fifth goal, the lads couldn't level the score. Though this is only the lads' second defeat of the season, the next two fixtures are against the two league leaders, so expect some old-school Berocca Juniors reports.
