Match Report - PRES AT SUPPLES - 8 Feb 2017

We needed to take a long, hard look at ourselves in the mirror after this one.

The boys had confidence going into the match, not only because they were unbeaten in the league, but because Tom Coulthard had his new boots on. Straight off the peg at Sports Direct. Things were looking good.

However the boys started slowly. Despite goals from Coulthard and Harry Van Der Hoek, the lads went into the break 3-2 down. With two extra players, and the moist conditions playing to the Juniors' strengths, the team-talk was mostly positive.

Having reconstructed James Sproston's knee, the boys got back underway. Two more goals from Coulthard and Van Der Hoek got the team back on terms, before a quickfire William Nicoll double, one set up by James Edwards and the other made for himself, put BJFC in the lead for the first time in the game.

Well into the second half, the game got particularly feisty. Having been thrown to the floor in a testosterone-fuelled rage, Sproston's already structurally insecure, asbestos and woodworm-filled joints. Meanwhile, every time Niall Nagar went within a yard of some bloke, he hit the deck quicker than a disorientated floorboard enthusiast.

For every time their keeper gifted us a goal, we gifted them one back. After Tom Coulthard's shot was redirected into the net, a stray Will Nicoll pass, directed into the corridor of chronic uncertainty, was picked up by that lad who could never stay on his feet. Whilst falling over he managed to squeeze it under the sprawling Jake Hawkyard to equalise.

We're still unbeaten though so we're alright.
