When he was called upon, he was there. When Jack Cryer stepped off the plane last week, he had one thing in mind. This wasn't seeing family, friends or Chinese lecturers, this was saving the Gaffer's job.

Having spent money in the summer on reputed names such as Tom Coulthard and William Nicoll, as well as big-money flop Jack White, who is yet to make another appearance for the Juniors, the board expected the Gaffer to deliver this season. Having won four from four league fixtures since the seeding, it all seemed to be going well, but conceding a last-minute equaliser to Pres at Supples had the Gaffer worried for the first time in his long career. Step up Jack Cryer,

Despite only notching up a 7.29, Jack still scoops the man of the match acolade, taking into account his jetlag, polluted lungs, and consistently abhorrent taste in socks. Ryan Craig was also disqualified for the award this week after it was leaked that he always scores himself at a 10/10. We all know that this is a wild overestimation.

James Sproston, Jake Hawkyard and Harri Saunders were all recognised for their sterling work throughout the game. Hawkyard pulled off some physics-defying stops, racking up a tasty 8.43, whilst Saunders recorded the same rating for his brilliant work assisting the majority of the goals. Sproston hits the dizzy heights of 8.57 for his ability to keep big lads annoyed throughout the game.

Harry Van Der Hoek continued his rich vein of scoring form, and was rewarded with the same rating as Hawkyard and Saunders. Will Nicoll also contributed, but despite some moments of brilliance, was missing at times in the match. Perhaps when he was subbed.
