Starting the day in the fourth group, BJFC defied all expectations by again going unbeaten in another tourney. Despite only rocking up with six outfield players and a physio, the lads were even tighter than last week.

On the back of an 8-1 loss the Wednesday before, most would've excused the lads if their confidence had taken a serious knock. However, the serious character building at SoccerWorld Newcastle Upon Tyne three years previous served the boys well.

The lads kicked off this week against the German Campus Leagues Champions, Miffedoffenheim. Facing the big European boys, James Sproston started between the sticks, with all of the Queens Road boys in front of him. The first half was balanced, with neither side playing particularly sexy football, so a Tom Coulthard goal from Jack Edwards' killer ball and a long-range effort from Müller kept the sides level. However, as we all know continental football doesn't compare to the old 'kick and run', as two goals from William Nicoll, another for Coulthard, and one for Harry Van Der Hoek, who celebrated more than Geoff Hurst did when he clinched the World Cup in '66.

Continuing their European tour, the Juniors faced Spaniards El Capitano. Featuring a number of World Cup winners, the Spanish side were the toughest side BJFC have played so far this year. Jack Cryer had quite the eventful match, having started in net and made an impressive save. However, in defence he left Xavi free at the far post for the former Barca man to break the deadlock. But Cryer wasn't out of the spotlight yet, as his heavy touch bobbled into the path of Coulthard, who coolly stroked home for the equaliser.

After playing two high profile sides, the team were brought down to earth with a bang as they played the rough and ready St Mary's FC. From Sproston's ball, Coulthard opened the scoring, before the Fenham-based club bundled home an equaliser. Coulthard and Nicoll restored the lead, before Coulthard rounded off the scoring with his third and final goal of the game, winning the match for the Juniors and winning the match ball for himself.

Due to the Juniors' quality record, and fantastic physioship from Jack Westerman, they've qualified for Division 2 in the Campus Leagues structure alongside El Capitano, Jay Jay O'Cotchers, Strawberry Utd, Bafletico Madrid, Norwich Academy, Kroos Control and AFC Donn. We reckon the first match will be against the Canaries.

As always big love to Mob Kitchen for the kits.
