As Mahatma Ghandi once said "you win some, you lose some." Wednesday's match fell into the latter category.
It was a turbulent preparation to the game for the Juniors. After Ryan Craig became unavailable, the Juniors were forced to pull Niall Nagar out of rehab to don the yellow and black. En route to the match, the boys found a wild Teddy Lee, who had played it safe this time, arriving at the bus stop a week early.
BJFC started brightly, with goals from Will Nicoll, Harri Saunders and Harry Van Der Hoek propelled the boys into a speedy 3-1 lead, but a few defensive errors let the opposition back in. The half-time score was 3-3, and with a numerical advantage over the opposition, the odds looked to favour the Juniors.
However things didn't go to plan. James Edwards' arthritis held him back, Harri Saunders was targeted, and Niall Nagar relapsed, transforming him into a sniveling mess. Besides another Will Nicoll goal, there were few positives to take from the half.
Due to no lack of effort, the lads were tactically outclassed by a counter-attacking display comparable to when Wellington outplayed Napoleon in the first European Cup final under the lights at Waterloo. The boys were drawn out like by Frosty Jacks like the moon draws out the Irish Sea in the best display of the tide formation ever seen.
We promise we'll bounce back next week. We can't bare to make Jake cry again.
