At the 44th time of asking, Delph and Safety didn't turn up. Instead our old enemy Frosty Jacks took to the field to face us, fortunately with no Niall Nagar hangover to contend with, we were confident of getting a result.
Having drafted in new players, Frosty Jacks started brighter. The boys played the offside trap in a game where there's no offsides, leading to the opposition exploiting holes in the Juniors' defence. Nevertheless, goals from Will Nicoll, James Edwards and Harry Van Der Hoek pulled the score back from 4-1 to put us 5-4 in front.
After netting a half-decent goal in the first half, matched only by a celebration consisting of thirty-five fist pumps and a ninety decibel roar, Harry Van Der Hoek had worked himself to the bone. However those on the sideline refused to make way for the man on fire, resulting in the No.10 lingering around the opposition box. This ended up being a tactical masterpiece when Tom Coulthard perfectly found Van Der Hoek on the edge of the three-yard box with a delicious 40-yard ball that came straight out of the textbook tattooed on Tony Pulis' left forearm. Van Der Hoek finished with aplomb.
Harri Saunders was also in the wars. Having defended 11 consecutive attempts on Jake Hawkyard's goal, the club captain took a stinger to the scapula for his team. Such a hero. James Edwards was also on such form, bagging one from the Tom Coulthard range, as well as two that the keeper generously let slip through. When you're hot, you're hot.
We couldn't be happier to be back in action and back to winning ways. Delph and Safety, we're still coming for you.
