In the furore of the elections week, most thought that the Berocca Juniors fixture against Benteke Fried Chicken was going to go under the radar. How wrong they were.
Having won 14-0 in the away leg, the Juniors took the pitch in high confidence, but wary considering some of the humblings they've had at the hands of 'inferior' opposition.
But such complacency wasn't present in the Juniors' play. The first five minutes were a balanced affair, with our custodian between the posts, Jake Hawkyard, showing his class to keep the goals from rolling in.
It was our keeper that set up the first goal, as William Nicoll received the ball from his sticky gloves, to battle past the opposition and open the scoring. Despite conceding, Ryan Craig and James Sproston sent the Juniors into the break with a half time lead.
However, it was Tom Coulthard and Harri Saunders that took control in the second half, as the former bagged four, and our club captain netting five in a display of footballing dominance.
Towards the end of the match, the lads wanted Brad Metcalfe and Harry Van Der Hoek to get on the scoresheet. After being put through one-on-one, Metcalfe couldn't take his chance. Drawing into the final five, Hawkyard looked more likely to get on the scoresheet, however HVDH fired past the keeper after being picked out by Sproston.
Another destruction of Benteke Fried Chicken could only mean one thing, another staple Ryan Craig selfie.
