Santos Sports U8’s vs Property Links (We had 6-4, the referee said 7-4) ??????? ??
Back to Halewood league today in windy conditions. The first half started tight, with Property Links going close on a couple of occasions and Albi looking bright and alert in goal.
We then made some good chances of our own and took more control, defending better against their main threats and creating some good team goals before half time.
Soon after the restart, after another nicely worked goal, the ref allowed the other team to add more players….at one stage it was 7 players against 5. The attitude and work-rate of the boys remained spot on as Property Links scored more goals. Even with the wind in their faces and against extra players, it was great to see the whole team working hard for each other and continuing to make chances.
Credit to the referee for his communication with the kids, often making them laugh and smile. (Some odd decisions but a very nice fella)
Refs MOM - Harry W - constant threat with the ball, creating chances and working hard for the team
Parents MOM - Jenson - Lots of hard work, good passing, two goals including a smart finish with his weaker foot.
Managers MOM - the whole team, they had a fantastic attitude
