Ballymun traveled out to play Railway for the second time in three weeks on Saturday morning. Ballymun hoping to make it back to back wins for the first time this season got off to a flying start thanks to an amazing long distance strike from their #9 Felipe Ona. Ballymun then doubled their lead minutes after with a long ball from Ryan Burke finding the feet on Felipe Ona who carried the ball forward and slotted it into the bottom corner giving the mun a 2-0 lead. Railway showed some more promising signs than they did in the first game, they tested Ballymuns back line with a lot of direct long balls, which was dealt with brilliantly. Cian Matthews was called into action a lot in the first half and thankfully had the answer to everything thrown at him. Ballymun with a make shift lineup didn’t look out of place at all and knocked on the door a lot more but unfortunately the referee didn’t give it a chance and called many offsides which was dealt with frustration from the ballymun line. Shortly after the break Ballymun then ran into a 3-0 lead thanks to Felipe Ona with some individual magic to complete his hatrick. Ballymun looked comfortable for the majority until railway piled on the pressure and looked to disrupt the ballymun back line, and that they did they caught onto a scrambled ball inside the area and made the scoreline within touching distance. Ballymun had to dig deep and defend with everything as they were finding it hard to get out of their own half for the majority of the second half, and that they did every ball crossed in was dealt with brilliantly and the lads hung on to take all three points. There was a special mention for Cillian Durrant on his first game back from injury who had an absolute stormer of a game. The Mun are back on track.
