Ballymun United V Railway Union

Ballymun hosted Railway union at the Ballymun United complex on Saturday at 11.30. Ballymun without a league game in three weeks looked to get past Tuesdays SFAI cup exit disappointment here at home and looked prepared early on they raced into a two goal lead inside the first 8 minutes of play, thanks to a stoke of luck from an LJ Cobbe strike and some brilliance from Cian with the second. Ballymun pressed high and dominated the early stages of the game and could have found themselves even further ahead in the first 15 mins or so, chances falling to Daniel, Timur, and Cian but they couldn’t fire home. LJ Cobbe then stepped up and scored his second of the morning with a nice tidy finish to make it 3-0 to the hosts. Railway looked down and out but somewhat clung on, Cian was then dragged back in the box and was awarded a penalty which he fired into the keepers hands. Ballymun we’re piling on the pressure and looked for the kill but couldn’t get the ball in the back of the net again, They came out for the Second half with the same intentions but were caught offside on numerous times which prevented any attack on goal. Railway then scored a scrappy goal to gain some hope in the later stages but Ballymun held on to what was an undervalued scoreline but more importantly 3 points on the board and the lads are back on track.
