Ballymun V Killegland

Ballymun hosted Killegland on Sportslink Astro on Saturday morning, both sides level on points in the table so it hoped to be a cracking game. Ballymun started off very strong with great movement on and off the ball getting into dangerous areas early on asking the question of the Killegland defence. Killegland sent a long ball into the corner which wasn’t closed down by Ballymun they allowed the cross to come in and the #9 headed home for 1-0. Undeserving Ballymun then conceded a second shortly after completely against the run of play as Ballymun were dominant from the get go.. Rian and Tadhg looked threatening up top but couldn’t get that breakthrough, Ballymun went into halftime 2/0 down and heads still held high as they knew they could turn it around, they came out and they looked even better than the first half they dominated early and found themselves creating more and more chances, Cian B hit a bullet of a shot from distance which rattled the post, Rian was also denied a peno after the keeper cleaned him off the ball.. Max and Tim looked good on the right hand side and sent numerous balls into the box but Killegland had answers and found themselves awarded a peno shortly after all the ballymun pressure they made it 3-0 ballymun responded shortly after through Lj, who skipped into the box untouched and hit one into the corner to give us some hope late on. Killegland then scored two more through errors from the ballymun back line to end the game 5-1. The scoreline wasn’t even close to how the game should of ended today. Ballymun deserved a point if not all 3. Just couldn’t put their chances away…

Lj and Cian in the centre were immense they set the standard in the middle of the park today. Special mentions for two fullbacks Evan and max who worked extremely hard today. Dan and Rian, who were also quality today. We keep going??
