BALLYMUN V ESKER CELTIC

Ballymun looked to bounce back from a tough loss last time out against Lusk utd.

They hosted Esker Celtic who are currently playing some great football and getting positive results. Ballymun found themselves a goal down inside the first five minutes failing to clear a corner from their six yard box. Shortly after Esker were awarded a penalty for a rough tackle from Tadgh Keenan, Cian in the sticks stopped the penalty brilliantly only to concede a deflection 30 seconds later. Ballymun weren’t awake whatsoever and esker took advantage and ran into a 4-0 lead at the break. The second half was a much more positive one from ballymun who started brilliantly and got a bundle of chances, cian swung in a cross for Felipe Ona to toe poke it into the net to make it 3 in 3 for the #9. Ballymun were then caught lacking and esker ran up to score their fifth and more or less sealed the points. Ballymun fought on and Cian Borromeo converted a penalty to make it 5-2, Cian then scored a brilliant solo goal he received it on the right hand side cut in onto his left and slotted it into the bottom corner to make it 5-3. With hope now on their side Ballymun knocked on the door again but a long ball from Esker was wrongly judged by Ryan and the Esker #9 ran in to slot it home to take all the points for the visitors. Another disappointing result for the young mun but tough times create tough characters. They will bounce back.
