A cold morning at the wonderful Victoria rec and the anticipation of a more positive performance was what we were all facing but we were thrown into a mini crisis! Where was Miguel? The referee, crawley's own Liam Gallagher had doubts about the pitch but there was no need worry! Baker however was very concerned about the lack of a GK. Chuck made a call and super hero Mark pal came to save the day. The team talk couldn't happen as another team decided they wanted to share our changing room so not the best start. Once we got going though all the worrying went away. Mark looked confident in goal and we could see people wanted to put in the effort. Unfortunately we didn't start playing quickly enough and the opponents took the lead through an opportunist break and powerful shot. The lads didn't let it affect them and started the comeback straight away once we actually started spreading the ball it created more space and gave our centre mids more room to manoeuvre, this lead to some rash tackles from the opposition and gave us free kicks. One of them was taken by Matty who floated a wonderful ball into the perfect area for Squibs to add a deft touch to put it in the back of the net. Our tails were up at this point and we looked dangerous with every break. Movement was much better and passing was more accurate. Then Chuck chased the defender and managed to dispossess him he pulled it back to Callum who was trying with everything he had to get it on his left foot but gave up and decided to use his swinger and it found the target to give us a lead at half time. Mark had to go at half time to his daddy duties so Miguel who Tonks had managed to locate (possibly at a crack den) came in between the sticks. Tonks also came on for a half fit Sam. The 2nd half started as the 1st ended with B Town in full control. There were some absolutely appalling offside decisions flagged by the oppositions managers wife but we kept going even though it was difficult to cope with such blatant cheating! We did go into cruise mode and unfortunately the opposition saw it and scored an equaliser against the run of play. The match ended on a sour note as the toothless manager tramp who had come on earlier decided to kick out at a poor defenceless Chuck! He rightly got his marching orders and will have to sit in a doorway to try and earn the money to pay off the fine! It was a massive disappointment not to win but better than last week so it's on the up. Well done boys and up the B Town!
