A day when we knew our opposition were going to give 150%, and this was proved when they turned up extremely early to try and stop the Dynamos unbeaten league run. Everyone was very nice before proceedings started however instantly as the game started friends were out the window and tackles flew in straight away on the 3 strike force of Carl, Kumar, and Akel. Aylesbury didn't raise to this and moved on nicely with the job in hand , after 9 minutes Carl hit possibly one of the goals of the season with a 25 yard volley that stunned Elmhurst. However they didn't sit back and come at us strongly for the remainder of the half , the whole back four were awesome today the highlight probably when the Elmhurst striker thought he had scored when Jay dived in to make an incredible block. Colin, Melton, and Ricardo all seemed to have a very good understanding on the day and Griff made a string of good punches to ensure corners and free kicks were dealt with.
The second half saw probably one of the best halves of the season and the difference was there for all to see, it was the battling spirit as every player was giving more than 100%, at least 3 players screaming at the manager dont take me off with the effort i'm putting in !
Then a 10 minute period of delightful football stunned Elmhurst with 3 great goals, 2 more from Carl to complete his hattrick which saw him collect his MOM, and another from the current midfield goal machine Ellis Goodin. We knew today was so important to our league title as now we have 3 semi -finals and possibly a final before another league game, with Haddenham drawing with APBS 2 more wins and we are home and dry.
