Round 1 catch up game saw Evil travel to the much loved Prentice Park to take on North Brisbane. Toshy's bucks weekend plus some other events saw Evil struggling to fill the team card. 2 players under an injury cloud were named to help out and the unused Adge adding himself to make it look like we had numbers. A makeshift line up was named with a number of players out of position but up for the challenge.
The early stages of the game saw Ham and Fehlhaber linking well to light up the right side of the field. A number of crosses were put into the area with a few headers going close. On the other side saw Lando and Toby playing some magic football which lead to Evil's first goal. Toby sliding the ball in between the 2 central defenders for Fehlhaber to get onto and knock pass the rushing goal keeper.
An attack down the right side saw Fehlhaber have a long range driving effort saved with the ball parried out to Juan outside the box. He got the ball onto his right and put in a curling effort across and over the keeper. 2-nil at Half time and Evil were cruising.
Cayne was brought on after the break to test his fitness and Bourke making way for Dom to lead the line. 5 mins into the half saw another attack down the right and Fehlhaber putting in a Pogbaesque cross around the back of the defence for the German to run onto and put away his First for the game and the season.
North Brisbane started to press hard with 30 to go and made a few half chances. Their best came with 10 and 5 to go respectively which saw Nick pull off some more top saves and some goalbox mayhem before the defence cleared the ball.
The game finished the way it started with Evil on top. Bourke chased down a ball the defence gave up on thinking it would go out. He gets the ball onto his right and fired a lowish hard cross to Dom on the back post who heads the ball across the goal and finds the back of the net.
4-nil it finishes and Evil keep the season on track with the bare numbers. Johnny Who, Cody and Chuck all putting in a solid shift to keep North Brisbane at bay. The majority of their play broken up by Cody who had his best game to date for Evil.
