Home league match

A hearty performance sees Evil get the 3 points against a much improved North Brisbane late in the game.

Annerley started the game strongly with some great game play with possession and smart passing. Missing some players in key positions, reshuffling to the starting line ups was required. The players called upon stood up and the team play was direct yet creative.

The opening goal came midway through the first half after a few chances had gone begging. North Brisbane's goal keeper didnt like coming off his line and was left guessing after a through ball from half way from Fehlhaber for Bourke to chase down saw him with a tight but make able finish.

North Brisbane found themselves the beneficiary of some sloppy Evil play. A bobbling back pass saw Ham, playing in goals filling in for the injured Nikau, needing to take a touch before attempting to clear but found himself under pressure. The chasing forwards got his leg in the way and the ball ended up at falling too the fortunate North Brisbane player who had to just guide the ball into the empty net.

Evil hit straight back with Lando and Trace, tearing up the left hand side most of the night, combined to get Trace in space who unleashed a low shot which the North Brisbane keeper got behind well but parried into the path of Bourke who finds the net for his second.

North Brisbane started the second half the strongest and found the left side of the field open, after winning the ball on half way and with the right side of the Evil's defence out of position, worked the ball well and pushed hard to find the back of the net level it up with over half hour too play.

Tactical changes saw evil back on top for the run in but couldn't find the telling blow. Bourke saw a solid header saved, Dom saw what would of been a goal of the season contender come back off the cross bar and a few missed chances saw the game go into the final 10 all square.

A more attacking formation saw the undoing of the North Brisbane defence. With 5 to go Dom worked well on the left hand side to give himself some space to get a cess in which Bourke found himself on the end of to tap in for his third and the winning goal of the game.

A mention for Lando who put in a possible Man of the match performance who was telling in the defence and also an attacking outlet on the left. Combing well with both Tracey and Dom on the left and also interchanging passes with the centre of the park opening up a few attacking opportunities for Evil.

Evil dug deep to get the points and keep pressure on table topping Mount Gravatt who won comfortably 8-2 against Moggill.
