Away league match
As an afternoon storm rolled through Brisbane, Moggill hosted Evil in a Sunday blockbuster. Table toppers were also playing that afternoon against the only team to beat them in the first round of fixtures, Kangaroo Point. Evil knew they had to score goals against the bottom team to keep pressure on the Hawks who put Moggill to the sword the week before.
Evil started with full intent playing attacking football with Bourke, Fehlhaber and Dippl all missing chances in the opening 15 mins. Not dropping their heads they kept pushing and eventually Bourke opened the scoring, getting on the end of a through ball from Fehlhaber and finished top corner from out side the box. Moggill's keeper had plenty to do for the rest of the half as Evil kept up the pressure but couldn't extend the lead going into the break 1 to the good.
The second started and the rain had stopped but the pressure from Evil had not. Fehlhaber hit the uprights on 2 different occasions in the opening 15 minutes of the second half, taking the team's total to 5 for the game. Eventually the pressure became too much and Evil extended their lead. A quick throw saw Fehlhaber with some space down the wing and as he got to the byline, cut back a ball for Bourke to take a touch to give himself same space and hit the ball in off the post. That's how the game finished up despite the pressure. The result sees Evil back on top of the table with the Mount Gravatt v Kangaroo Point game postponed due to the weather.
Toshy's first game back after the Honeymoon saw him have a cameo in the right wing position, showing Adge what a great attacking outlet he could be if given the chance. Ham in goals for the last game before Nic returns from injury had a great game and rarely put a foot wrong. The defensive backline was solid and rarely gave Moggill the chance to attack. Bourke in the goals again and now had 5 from the last 2 games to put himself in a commanding position for this years Golden Boot for Axis.
