AustenPlus Football Club secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over GPM Football Academy in a friendly match held at Agidingbi Grammar School on 26 September 2024. The match kicked off at 3:00 pm, showcasing an exciting display of football from both sides.
AustenPlus lined up in a 4-1-2-3 formation, which allowed for a solid defensive structure while providing ample support for their attacking players. Ruke Komon took his place in goal, with David Oluwasegun and Emmanuel Peter occupying the right and left defensive flanks respectively. The central defence was marshalled by Gafar Ademola and Olaitan Jimoh. In front of the back four, Oche Ogaba played a pivotal role as the central midfielder, tasked with both defensive duties and initiating attacks. The attacking midfield trio consisted of Emmanuel Okeke on the right, Mudashiru Sodiq on the left, and Destiny Dan-Chukwu leading the line as the striker, flanked by Famakinwa Micheal and Bishara Kansulum in the forward positions. The substitutes included Olawale Ogunlade.
The match began with a flurry of activity, as GPM Football Academy struck early, scoring their first goal just three minutes in with a stunning effort from outside the area. The second half commenced with a tactical substitution for AustenPlus, as Olawale Ogunlade replaced Emmanuel Okeke in the 48th minute, aiming to bolster their attacking options.
