Austenplus Edge Past ALAMPASU FA In Thrilling Encounter

AustenPlus Football Club triumphed over ALAMPASU FA with a scoreline of 2-1 in a gripping match held at the African Church Primary School on 18 November 2024. The contest, which kicked off at 4:00pm, saw both teams battle fiercely, culminating in a penalty shootout where AustenPlus emerged victorious, converting five penalties to ALAMPASU's four.

AustenPlus adopted a 4-1-2-3 formation, which allowed them to maintain a solid defensive structure while providing ample support to their attacking players. The back four consisted of two central defenders flanked by two full-backs, with a defensive midfielder sitting in front to shield the defence. The two central midfielders were tasked with linking play between defence and attack, while the three forwards aimed to exploit the width of the pitch and create goal-scoring opportunities.

The match began with both teams displaying a cautious approach, testing each other's defensive lines. As the first half progressed, AustenPlus began to assert their dominance, utilising their midfielders to control possession and dictate the tempo of the game.
