Perfect Start!

Perfect start to the season! ????

Great game this afternoon as we come away with a 3-0 victory. Sparta came out the blocks fast with great pressing in the middle of midfield with holding midfields Krzysztof and Jan T constantly on top of the opposition giving them no time to get the ball down and play. After a period of constant attacking play from Sparta orchestrated by Cezary and Iccy we finally got our rewards. Striker Reeve D putting the Spartans ahead on his first game back for the club, with a lovely well taken goal.

As the half went on we looked comfortable and in complete control. The 3 centre half’s who were led by newly appointed skipper Jan W at sweeper alongside the ever reliable Peter H and debutant Joe G were playing out from the back throughout the half looking to capitalise on the big pitch and find wing backs Peter R an Robert F

After the 2nd half kicked off Barlestone started to get a few more chances, some cracking saves from Jordan K followed by a stop worthy of save of the season already. From 4 ft out, from point blank range the keeper managed to get a strong hand behind the ball and even turn it over the bar. 2 changes were made which seen Hudak and Tacar make way, impressive Gregson moved into holding midfield an a complete fresh pair coming on at centre half in Baker an Soare Sorin. Sparta got things back under control and momentum started building again. More hard work through the middle from Kris, Gregson and Chara seen striker Iccy go through and finish to put us 2-0 up.

Mention to goalkeeper Jord who was finding passes all over the pitch through the 90 and 65 mins finally a ball found Reeve and he was through 1 on 1 and more great work from the Barlestone keeper coming out closing down the goal to make a great save from Deely. But who other to follow up the rebound than last season player of the year Peter R 3-0. On came Tom G for Reeve and gave us some fresh legs up front, followed by Matej replacing Rubis on right and Aiden coming on for Gregson in the middle of the park.

Further chances came through some lovely, tenacious football from Aiden, Iccy, Chara and Tom supported by Farky and Matej on the wings, but a 4th was not to be.
