Ashfield welcomed our friends from Govan to a sunny Peugeot Ashfield Stadium last night and despite the travel problems caused by the European Championships the game managed to go ahead and the home side will have been delighted it did as they finished off an excellent 5 days by securing a rare home win against St Anthony`s. The `field were still `smarting` from the loss of a late goal the last time the two teams met and after 13 minutes found themselves a goal down courtesy of a goal from Ball. The `field did not let this affect them and were driven forward by Club Captain Ciaran Friel and within 11 minutes the `field were level as Hearton scored. HT:- Ashfield 1 St Anthony`s 1. Both teams put in a terrific effort in the 2nd half however despite chances, the one that was taken was again from Graeme Hearton who finished off a lovely move involving Keigan Parker.
