So Close To That First Competitive Win!

Such a close game this morning. A game which either team could have won but unfortunately we just lost it, but only by a couple of goals.

We started very bright and took the lead through a penalty scored by Ben with a lovely finish into the bottom right corner. This is the first time we have gone ahead in a competitive game so we are very pleased with that as a team. We held onto the lead for a good amount of time before Polesworth drew level before the break.

Second half the opposition were kicking downhill and went into the lead only for us to pull it back with a lovely finish from Jude. He was poorly before kick off but he did well when coming on and grabbed his second goal in two games for the knights. Our counter attacks were amazing today and this game could have gone either way. Unfortunately due to a couple of questionable referee decisions Polesworth took the lead. Man of the match George scored a third goal for us with a tidy finish. This lad had a game of mixed emotions but played a fantastic game and got a deserved goal and the player of the match award. We were so close today to that first competitive win we really were. It’s coming!!

Jospeh’s goal kicks were really good, our defending was also good, just a few silly errors which we can learn from but our passing to get the ball up the pitch quickly and the chances we created today was amazing to see. This was a top, top effort from every single player today. You all had a role to play and it was lovely to see. You deserved more today lads but a MASSIVE well done to all of you ?? until next time… KNIGHTS!! ????
