This morning we hosted Next Generation Incredibles at The NFU, a team we haven’t faced before and we had to make a couple of changes to the starting lineup before we even kicked a ball due to a couple of players feeling unwell, which couldn’t be helped. It happens.
Having said that, what a first half from our Knights! After last weeks loss which was down to physical strength in the end, we asked the lads to go out there today and be brave, battle hard, put them tackles in, win the ball back early if they lose it and be strong and they certainly listened as they battled so hard in that first half and soon took a well deserved lead into half time through Zach, who was loving it out there this morning playing up front and lobbed the keeper from outside the box. A moment us coaches won’t ever forget and I think the supporters will agree. This little lad needed this boost of confidence and it was such a proud moment for us all to see his little face after this amazing goal and how we all celebrated ?? and all his team mates celebrating with him made the moment even more special.
In the second half, we made a few mistakes that could have been avoided and ended up losing the game but we learned a lot this morning and we take away the positive first half performance and carry on.
We also take the mistakes on the head and learn from them. Remember lads- We are only human, we all make mistakes at any age in life and at this age we are in the development stage, so hold your heads up high and keep going. Don’t beat yourselves up! We’re a team and we are in this together and as mentioned before- there’s lots of positives to take and WE HAVE IMPROVED THIS SEASON & we will carry on improving. BELIEVE in yourselves our little Knights ??
Next Saturday will mark Harry & Roy’s 50th game in charge of this amazing team. It’s hard to believe and wow! it’s gone so fast, but we are fine, we’re developing good and in the right way and we will keep going for these lads through the ups and the downs! We’re in this together always. ????
