A Game Of Two Halves

Our last game of the season ended in a narrow defeat this afternoon. A first half which we will quickly forget about. The opposition could have scored more than what they did with the chances they created. We struggled a little in the first half but after a few words at half time we came out in the second half and played how we know we can play. We battled more, created a few chances, got the ball up the pitch quicker and didn’t concede another goal. We didn’t score, but again, a few more positives to take from the second half. Joseph pulled off some absolutely amazing saves to keep the score how it was & player of the match Jax had a fantastic second half putting in challenges. He and the rest of the lads clearly listened to what we said at half time so credit to them for that.

Attention now turns to the friendly games we have coming up, starting next Saturday against Woodville Whites who we have beaten in the past, more training and a summer league competition to look forward to as we head towards U10s level next season. We have made a lot of progress since October when we first became a team. Today we conceded the least amount of goals we have conceded in a competitive match. For saying we didn’t play our first game until December/January we are happy with the progress we have made so far. It will be nice to have a full season next season that’s for sure.
