In The Hat For The Next Round!

As we remembered those who gave everything for us during the wars by holding a minutes silence, our knights also gave everything for us this morning by advancing into the next round of The Major Cup!

That in itself is an achievement after getting knocked out in the first round last season.

We dominated the game from start to finish, we worked so hard, battled for every single ball & attacked the opponents throughout the match, playing a high line. Our togetherness and teamwork was outstanding.

What we have worked on in training lately is quick passing and today it showed how well these lads have listened to their coaches because we moved the ball around the pitch beautifully.

Joseph, Freddie & Ben were hardly troubled at the back but when called upon they just could not be beaten. Well done to Joseph for keeping his first clean sheet since we started out- a great achievement for him and our defenders. Ben made up for an earlier penalty miss by slotting home his second chance from the spot. Lucas and George were just full of energy and dominated the middle of the pitch all game when playing.

Lucas wasn’t feeling well in the week but you wouldn’t of known as this kid just loves to play & was full of energy & as for George ??… he was taking players on all game and creating chances for his team mates and even picked out a few passes ??. Louis & Jude were up and down that wing winning the ball back and creating opportunity after opportunity with Jude grabbing his 6th goal of the season by lobbing the keeper. Jax had a good game up front and could have grabbled a goal himself and linked up well with the wingers. They were picking each other out with passes all game- it was as if it was telepathic.

Now… the goal of the day goes to Zach. The delight on his face when it hit the net was priceless but it was all about the build up… exactly what we have worked on in training, quick passes between Dexter & Jude allowed Zach to grab his goal. Dexters pass was sublime.

We are so proud of how these lads have performed the last few games when we have lost but haven’t deserved to lose but today we got what we deserved and we seem to have clicked. We are getting stronger and stronger and these lads deserve so much praise.

Player of the match was a very difficult decision but in the end it went to George and it was fully deserved ??

As for the parents/supporters- outstanding as always! Thank you.
